ams announces accurate digital temperature sensor for wearable devices

Premstaetten, Austria (December 2, 2020) — ams (SIX: AMS), a leading worldwide supplier of high performance sensor solutions, today announced the launch of the AS6221, the world’s most accurate digital temperature sensor.The AS6221 achieves measurement accuracy of ±0.09°C, over a temperature range from 20°C to 42°C, making it ideal for the measurement of human body or skin temperature. No competing digital temperature sensor on the market today can achieve accuracy better than ±0.10°C. The digital temperature sensor AS6221 is housed in a WLCSP package with a footprint of just 1.5mm x 1mm, and draws 6µA at an output data rate of 4Hz. Stand-by current is just 0.1µA.

Matsuo Electric offers high temperature thermostats rated up to 450°C

Matsuo Electric offers a new series of high temperature  thermostats capable of operating up to 450°C. Calibration from 200°C to 400°C are available with tolerance down to ±15°C and differentials as small as 20±10°C. The M2H is capable of 2 million mechanical cycles and over 100,000 electrical cycles as for the regulating temperature and also as for the protector at IP60 rate. Solid State Devices Releases Hermetic Dual GaN FET PN SGF30E100Z8

La Mirada, CA – Solid State Devices, Inc. (SSDI) continues to expand its hermetic GaN Power FETs line with the SGF30E100Z8, a 1000 volt dual GaN FET. When used in a half bridge configuration, this device delivers 15 amps of continuous drain current, but can also be connected in parallel to achieve 30 amps. Similar to SSDI’s other GaN offerings, the very fast switching SGF30E100Z8 has a low gate charge of 10 nC max and a low RDS(on) of 160 mΩ typ.

ams Q2-2020 results overview

Premstaetten, Austria (29 July 2020) — ams (SIX: AMS), a leading worldwide supplier of high performance sensor solutions, reports record revenues for the second quarter, up 13% year-on-year and at the mid-point of the expectation range, with strong adjusted operating profitability at the top end of the expectation range. This growth was driven by demand in ams’ consumer business, even with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and its macro-economic and end market impact which resulted in muted automotive and industrial demand. Despite these factors ams expects a very good third quarter with revenues of USD 530-570 million and continued strong profitability resulting in an adjusted operating (EBIT) margin of 21-24%.
