Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) has been awarded a $903.6M modification to a previously awarded, fixed-price incentive contract.This modification procures long lead materials, parts, components and support necessary to maintain on-time production and delivery of 133 Lot 16 F-35 aircraft for the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, non-U.S. Department of Defense participants and Foreign Military Sales customers.

Raytheon Technologies (NYSE:RTX) has been awarded a ~$145.1M modification to previously issued fixed-price-incentive-firm-target, firm-fixed-price contract.The modification exercises an option for the production and delivery of 90 full rate production Lot 17 Block V Tactical Tomahawk (TACTOM) All Up Round Vertical Launch System missiles, including related hardware and services for the Navy.Work to be performed at multiple locations; and is expected to be completed in December 2023.

Raytheon Technologies secures $611.5M contract for CCSS from Air Force 

Raytheon Technologies (NYSE:RTX) has been awarded a ceiling of $611.5M, firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-reimbursable-no-fee, IDIQ contract for command and control switching systems (‘CCSS’).This contract provides electronic digital telecommunications system developed for military command and control. The CCSS is the key component of the Defense Red Switch Network, enabling secure and non-secure voice and data telecommunications at multiple levels, large scale voice conferencing capabilities and is inter-operable with other secure devices.

Lockheed Martin buying Aerojet Rocketdyne in $4.4B deal 

The all-cash deal works out to $56 per share for Aerojet Rocketdyne (NYSE:AJRD), or $51 after the payment of a special $5 per share pre-closing dividend. Aerojet Rocketdyne closed at $42.04 on Friday.Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) CEO James Taiclet: “This transaction enhances Lockheed Martin’s support of critical U.S. and allied security missions and retains national leadership in space and hypersonic technology.”The special dividend will go to AJRD owners as of March 10, and be payable on March 24.

L3Harris Technologies awarded $496M U.S. Navy contract 

L3Harris Technologies (NYSE:LHX) nabbed a five-year, $496M contract to deliver prototype tactical jamming pods designed to extend U.S. Air superiority. The company will deliver eight operational pods to NAVAIR for fleet assessment, and additional test assets for airworthiness and design verification.

Hyundai Closes Deal on Robot Maker Boston Dynamics

Last week, Massachusetts-based robot maker Boston Dynamics announced that it was becoming part of the South Korean Hyundai family, subject to all the usual regulatory requirements and formal approval inherent in international acquisitions. The huge $1.1 billion deal will see Hyundai Motor Group take an 80% stake in the company, with SoftBank controlling the leftover 20%. It’s the latest in a series of notable sales by the Japanese multinational conglomerate holding company SoftBank. In September, SoftBank made the news when it announced the sale of Arm Holdings to NVIDIA for $40 billion.

Lockheed Martin to help build new fighter jet for Japan 

Lockheed Martin (LMT +0.5%) will join a project led by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (OTCPK:MHVYF) to build a new fighter plane that Japan’s air force is expected to deploy in 2035, according to Nikkei.Lockheed will be the junior partner on the project to manufacture about 90 jets.The new F-3 fighter will replace Japan’s F-2, which was jointly developed by MHI and Lockheed more than two decades ago.Lockheed’s Seeking Alpha Quant Rating ranks as the third highest in the aerospace and defense industry.
