SDDI Can Replace UR and US Glass Sleeve Packages for Discrete Semiconductors

La Mirada, California – SSDI can replace UR and US glass sleeve packages with either SMD.22 or SMD.22T packages for diode rectifiers, Schottky rectifiers, Zeners or TVS devices. The SMD.22T serves as a drop-in replacement for US packages and is available for all SMD.22 products even if not included on the data sheet. SSDI also continues to provide these products in the UR (SM), US (SMS), and axial leaded options.

Pyreos Expands Refrigerant Wavelength Range in Ultra Low Power ezPyro Package

Pyreos, the world’s first supplier of integrated digital SMD pyroelectric sensor subsystems for gas, flame, plus materials analysis applications, and supplier of the world’s smallest SMD pyroelectric detector, announces that it has expanded its refrigerant gas detection range and is now supplying extended-wavelength variants of its ultra-low power, low cost ezPyroTM digital SMD sensors optimized for the latest refrigerant gasses.

Pyreos announces gunfire detection sensor

Pyreos has chalked up a significant design win with Safe Zone Technologies Inc which supplies gunfire detection systems for indoor spaces. In this application ezPyro infrared detectors are used for high-speed muzzle-flash detection and analysis. The Pyreos sensor is integrated into a very small networked multi-sensor solution which is easily installed within public buildings such as retail stores, schools, and offices. Pyreos began shipping ezPyro sensor subsystems in volume to Safe Zone in late 2019. The design-in cycle lasted just four months and benefitted from Pyreos’ extensive range of reference boards, APIs, engineering application support, and comprehensive design information. ezPyro’s analysis speed, low cost and small form factor were all key factors in Safe Zone’s selection.

SSDI Adds GaN FET with Enhanced Radiation Tolerance

La Mirada, CA – SSDI’s latest hermetic GaN FET device, SGR15E90M, utilizes a GaN FET in the place of a silicon MOSFET at the input stage to provide enhanced radiation tolerance. The SGR15E90M’s cascode device structure consists of a high voltage depletion mode GaN FET at the output stage and a low voltage enhancement mode GaN FET at the input stage. The GaN FET at the input stage offers a gate-source voltage of +6 to -4 V and since gallium nitride is inherently rad tolerant, it will improve radiation tolerance when compared to a silicon MOSFET.
